Created the background and implemented fx to make what once was a still background image to something 3d and more alive. The list includes replacing the scene file, modeling/texturing the assets in 3d, Lighting and baking it, adding dynamic lighting from the flashes that highlight the characters, lens flare with subtle movement, atmospheric smoke to sit characters better, moving planets, shooting asteroids and light particles. All this had to be done in the same memory footprint as the background image that used to be there. Some trickery, memory sharing and programming help and we got it in budget with more immersive visuals. Had to present a technical case to the rendering programming team that this was as fast and visually worthwhile to take on a huge change to the main menu.
